Pastor Dale Jenkins
Senior Pastor
Born in Illinois, moved to California very young, I grew up going to church. In 1964 at the age of 8 years, I asked about Jesus and a Deacon of our church, J.P. Martindale led me to the saving knowledge of Christ. In the Summer of 1972 Penny and I met on a Vacation Bible School assignment from our Youth groups. Married in 1974, we have 3 children and 4 Grand Children. That doesn’t count all of the families we have been blessed to meet and call family in the 3 churches I’ve served as Pastor. In 1998 the Lord inspired Airway Heights Baptist to call me as their Pastor. Now 15 years later we call Spokane home.
Serving as a Pastor is the calling God has placed on my life for the past 33 years. The conviction that inspires my pastoral calling is to be as good of a sheepdog as humanly possible. Serving THE Good Shepherd, more on that later. I've Pastored 3 churches, Rexland Acres Baptist Church in Bakersfield, Ca. for 7 years, Yreka First Southern Baptist Church, CA., 7 years and here at AHBC 18 years and counting. We are constantly evaluating how we can reach more and different people in our community. God has given us an assignment in the West Plains, to Love Him (so that people see Jesus), and to Love People (introducing people to Jesus). Lord give us the harvest of souls for the return on our labors.

Serving as Pastor of Airway Heights Baptist Church has opened many doors of opportunity. Including the opportunity to serve as Chaplain to the Airway Heights Police and Fire Departments. Also as a Chaplain for the Sourthern Baptist Disaster Relief Team. Which has included response to Katrina, Rita Hurricans, Fires locally in the State of Washington. It has also been my priviledge to serve on the Northwest Baptist Executive Board and as President of the State Convention and the Pastor's Converence. Currently it is my privildege to serve on the national Southern Baptist Executive Board. I thank the Lord and Airway Heights Baptist Church for allowing me to serve these ministries.

Leroy Strain
Associate Pastor
Hello, I’m Leroy Strain, the Associate Pastor here at AHBC. I’ve been on staff since 1999 when our Sr Pastor tricked coercedasked me to join in the ministry here. I’m originally from San Antonio Texas (Hook’em Horns) transplanted here in 1993 but still genuinely surprised when it snows every winter. My beautiful wife, Francee, and our two teens, Brenna and Terrell, keep me grounded and in line.
I was licensed here in 1999 and ordained in 2003. And I’m a sinner saved by the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My life verse is 1 Corinthians 9:24 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. Through those words, God reminds me daily that I may not know all the particulars and circumstances of my own service to Him…but my job is to give Him my all.
I sincerely hope you will join us in worship and Bible study here at AHBC. God Bless.

After being discharged, I returned to SoCa where I met Betty while we were attending the local community college. After 18 yrs in SoCa we moved to Northern CA and came to Spokane about 7.5 yrs ago.have 2 grown children, Ed (who teaches 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade SS, and Beth who lives in Henderson NV with her husband Brian and their two girls Kiersten and Kaitlyn. Our hobbies include woodworking (mostly scrollsawing), gardening and reading.
After our last Mission’s Director moved out of the area, I was drawn to this ministry over a period of a couple of months.
